PETALING JAYA:
The Sarawak government has decided to ignore the federal government’s directive for a nationwide movement control order (MCO) and will instead stick with the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

“The CMCO will continue across the whole of Sarawak until May 17,” said the Sarawak state disaster management committee (SDMC) in a statement.

The SDMC said that dine-in customers will not be permitted at restaurants and food outlets during this period, with only delivery, drive-through and takeaways allowed.

It said there were 512 new Covid-19 cases in the state today.

Yesterday, just days after six Selangor districts, Kuala Lumpur and parts of Johor were brought under MCO, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced a nationwide MCO.
