Couple who ran ‘horror tahfiz school’ to be charged

This comes a week after police raided the school, which operated illegally, and rescued eight students.

One of the victims alleged he was punched, aside from being caned on his hands and feet.
PETALING JAYA:
A couple who is alleged to have abused their students at a tahfiz school, which they operated illegally, will be charged at the Ampang magistrates court tomorrow.

Ampang Jaya police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak said one of the suspects will be charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon.

The suspect will also be charged under the Immigration Act.

The second suspect, meanwhile, will be charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

Last week, police raided the school and rescued eight male students, aged between seven and 15.

The eight students who were rescued also claimed that they were abused by the couple.

One of the victims claimed he was punched in the head by the man who ran the school, aside from being caned on his hands and feet, while the wife slapped him on the face four times. According to police, the boy had new and old bruises on his body.
