43-year-old nabbed for ‘slash and Grab’ bid

Man suspected of robbing his Grab car driver at knifepoint remanded for six days.

Police have seized cash, pepper spray and a mobile phone from the suspected robber.
PETALING JAYA:
A 41-year-old Grab car driver got himself a passenger from hell when a man got in the vehicle and forced him to hand over his cash while holding a knife to his neck.

The man then sprayed the driver’s eyes with pepper spray in the incident which occurred at around 4.45pm along Jalan Prima 1, Kepong.

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man suspected of robbing the Grab car driver at knifepoint last week. The man has been remanded for six days from May 5 until May 10 to assist in investigations.

Police also confiscated cash, pepper spray and a mobile phone.

The case is being investigated under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code.

The arrest has also led to the police solving three other robberies, which had been reported since last week.
