Senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a press conference today said the six districts are: Hulu Langat, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.
The remaining three districts, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Ulu Selangor will remain under conditional movement control order (CMCO).
This follows a drastic increase in Covid-19 cases in the state recently.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin previously announced that the government will no longer resort to such “blanket orders”.
Instead, he said lockdown restrictions will be implemented on a targeted basis and within restricted localities from now on.
Currently, Kelantan is the only state with all districts under MCO.
Inter-district travel is prohibited in all six districts except for emergencies, deaths or work purposes. The SOPs will be similar to other areas under MCO, such as Kelantan and the five districts in Kedah announced recently.
Ismail said that the full SOPs for work-from-home policies in the private sector and the closure of schools will be released by the international trade and industry and education ministries, respectively.
Meanwhile, parents of university students who want to pick up their children from their campuses from May 7 onwards must obtain permission from the police.
Ramadan bazaars are also allowed, but subject to strict SOPs. However, he added that the local authorities and state governments are allowed to close down the bazaars if they wish to.
Food premises such as restaurants, hawker stalls, food trucks and kiosks may operate from 6am to midnight. Dine-ins are also not allowed.
Grocery stores, pharmacies and petrol stations may open from 6am to 10pm. However, petrol stations at highways are allowed to operate 24 hours. Fresh food markets are allowed to open from 6am until 2pm.
Social activities are prohibited altogether.
“Economic activities at MCO areas announced are allowed but with tight SOPs and changes in opening times,” Ismail said.
Meanwhile, he said that the green travel bubble for domestic tourists in states under the recovery MCO has also been suspended with immediate effect.
