Hamid, who ended his two-year tenure as the inspector-general of police today, said it is up to Acryl Sani and his team to assess the situation.
“I have exposed (Hamzah’s alleged involvement) and I will leave it to the police officers to follow up on it. I don’t necessarily have to make a report, as requested by the minister,” he said at a press conference after a handing-over ceremony at Bukit Aman.
On Friday, Hamid claimed that Hamzah was “pushing to get power” to determine where police officers will be placed.
He also accused the home minister of neglecting his responsibilities as chairman of the Police Force Commission, as many cases had failed to progress.
Meanwhile, Acryl Sani said he would reveal his plans and directions for the police force in a session with the media soon.
He said the force would carry on Hamid’s legacy by continuing to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people.
“This new task is like a heavy burden on my shoulders. However, I am confident that with the trust of the directors, as well as state and district police chiefs, we will continue our best efforts,” he said.
