They said the Sabah Water Department (JANS) should pull up its socks and rectify the problem immediately.
One of the residents, Tony Paridi Bagang, said they had suffered greatly over the past week.
The Universiti Teknologi Mara Sabah lecturer said the residents were disappointed that JANS had ignored their pleas and had not taken any proactive steps to supply them with water.
He accused JANS of blaming the water cut on power outages at the Talibong water treatment plant.
“JANS has taken the easy way out by putting up a warning notice that Taman Bandar Sierra is a water supply rationing area,” he told FMT.
Bagang said residents had been experiencing similar water shortage for more than five years and JANS should have long-term plans in place by now to solve the problem.
“Residents have to spend more to buy drinking water. Imagine the extra cost the people have been bearing all this while,” he said.
Bagang urged JANS to send more water tankers to alleviate the residents’ troubles for now.
