Failure to signal leads to fight, with suspect attacking victim with iron rod.

The victim had scolded the other driver for not signalling, which then led to the assault.
KOTA KINABALU:
A man lost seven teeth and suffered injuries on his head and hands after being beaten up in a road rage incident at Jalan Kolam yesterday.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Habibi Majinji said the incident happened at about 10pm when the 21-year-old victim who was driving a Honda S660 nearly collided with a Perodua Alza.

He said that while at a traffic light junction, the victim scolded the driver of a vehicle next to him for not signalling before entering the fast lane.

“The situation then became uncontrollable when the suspect was said to have broken the victim’s car window by using an iron rod.

“Based on the report, the suspect also hit the victim on his head and hands with the rod before leaving the scene,” he said.

The injured victim was helped out of his vehicle by onlookers. He then contacted family members who took him for treatment at a nearby hospital.

“The 36-year-old suspect has been identified and we are looking for him,” said Habibi.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing injury.
