In a brief Facebook post, Kedah police said a “surprise inspection” on confidential documents, vehicles and security passes was conducted at the entrance of its headquarters this morning.
It said the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department and the state’s Special Branch were involved in the inspection.
“Several vehicles belonging to officers as well as civil servants of the Kedah Royal Malaysia Police contingent have been fined for violating traffic laws, such as owning registration number plates that were not according to the stipulated specifications (fancy),” said the post.
