EMCO at Kampung Lingkudau in Sabah from March 15 to 28

The enhanced movement control order comes after the number of infections spike sharply.

The EMCO will be enforced in the Sabah village after 19 Covid-19 positive cases were detected from the 102 swab samples taken there.
PETALING JAYA:
An enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will take effect at Kampung Lingkudau, Keningau, Sabah, from March 15 to 28.

In a statement, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was necessary as 19 Covid-19 positive cases were detected from 102 swab samples taken there.

He said the health ministry had confirmed that the number of cases had spiked there and may cause the infection rate within the community to increase rapidly.

Separately, Ismail said the EMCO at Kuarters Sri Jelutung, Mukim Bebar, Pekan, Pahang, would end earlier than scheduled on March 14.

He said the EMCO was supposed to run until March 19 but the number of cases had been reduced there.
