
JOHOR BAHRU: Johor police have issued RM10,000 compound fines on 109 customers who were arrested at an entertainment centre in Muar last night.
The 81 men and 28 women, aged between 17 and 52, were arrested at about 10.45pm and fined for not obeying physical distancing rules.
A 52-year-old man who claimed to be the manager was also arrested and later fined RM50,000, said Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
All those detained were not remanded. The caretaker and workers at the premises had their statements recorded, he said.
Ayob Khan said the premises had been raided twice, on Feb 26 and March 10, and compound fines were also issued, however, the business continued to operate without an entertainment licence.
