This comes after Nizam yesterday claimed he had no knowledge of his sacking.
In a statement today, the public transportation giant reaffirmed comments made by its chairman, Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, on Tuesday that Norlia Noah had taken over as CEO on Feb 23 and had been appointed acting president.
“Prasarana confirms that the board of directors of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd had convened on Feb 22 and came to the decision to end the services of Muhammad Nizam Alias,” the release read.
Yesterday, Nizam released a statement contradicting Tajuddin’s remarks, saying he had not received formal notice from the company.
“At this time, as far as I know, the board has not made any decision to terminate my services,” Nizam said.
It was previously reported that Prasarana had suspended Nizam and told him to go on leave on Dec 9, with a special committee comprising the board of directors probing alleged misconduct.
Nizam’s suspension was said to be linked to his “testy relationship” at the leadership level since Tajuddin was appointed chairman in May last year.
