Perlis infection rate still high at 1.71, says Dr Noor Hisham

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announces all but two states have fallen below the 1.0 rate of infection in Covid-19 cases.

Penang has an infection rate of 1.03 according to data shared by the health director-general on his Twitter account.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The infectivity rate (R0, or R-naught) of Covid-19 following new daily cases reported nationwide yesterday stood at 0.85, with Perlis recording the highest R-naught of 1.71.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in an infographic shared on his Twitter account, announced that Penang recorded the second highest R-naught value at 1.03.

The readings of other states and federal territories were Sarawak (0.97), Selangor, Putrajaya, Terengganu 0.95, Melaka (0.89), Sabah (0.88), Johor (0.86), Labuan (0.85), Kelantan (0.81), Kuala Lumpur and Pahang (0.79), Kedah (0.76), Perak (0.64) and Negeri Sembilan (0.61).

The number of new Covid-19 cases reported yesterday remained at four figures with 1,575 cases and three deaths reported.
