In the 8.57am incident, the Malaysian woman was seen standing on top of the pedestrian bridge, some 9.1m above the ground.
Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department senior operations commander Wan Hamizan Kamaruddin said the woman was also holding a knife to ward off personnel from rescuing her.
“Thanks to swift action from our personnel, she was safely rescued at 9.28am,” he said in a statement today.
The victim did not suffer any injuries in the process and was handed over to the police for further action.
Some 23 firemen from the Hang Tuah and Pudu fire and rescue departments were involved in the operation.
