Sports and recreation activities allowed in Sarawak again

Training, games and matches allowed without spectators, but not activities involving public participation.

Sarawak sports minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said no spectators will be allowed.
KUCHING:
The Sarawak state government has allowed all sports and recreational activities to be resumed from today, for training, games and matches, but without spectators.

The activities must be carried out in compliance with the stipulated procedures.

However, activities involving public participation, such as fun run, fun ride, marathon and triathlon were not allowed, said state youth and sports minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

“Any tournament or matches in the state is subject to the approval from the ministry and organisers are required to inform the state disaster management committee.

Approval for public use of sports facilities is limited with recommendation letters from the ministry and the committee, he said.
