DAP’s Aziz Bari questioned by cops over remarks about Emergency

Abdul Aziz Bari says he is willing to cooperate with the police investigation into the remarks he made about the declaration of emergency.

IPOH:
Perak DAP deputy chairman Abdul Aziz Bari was summoned to the Lahat police station today where he spent an hour explaining remarks he had made about the state of emergency.

Aziz said: “What I can say is this: It involves the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the issue of emergency that I previously discussed on FB Live.

“I believe my words had upset certain parties. Now, they are twisting my words to make it sound like I’m disrespecting the King’s authority.”

He said it would now be up to the police to make a decision.

“I am ready to cooperate,” he said. “As far as I’m aware, I am the only one here who’s been summoned over this.”

Last Monday, FMT reported that Aziz might be facing police action for statements he had made over a Facebook livestream regarding the King and the declaration of emergency.
