
The EMCO, which will run until Feb 24, will enable the health ministry to conduct targeted screening on 400 residents in the area and to control the spread of Covid-19 within the community.
In a statement today, he said 16 of the 43 tests in the area returned positive as of yesterday.
Meanwhile, 589 people were arrested by the police yesterday over MCO-related offences.
Ismail said 543 of them were fined, 42 remanded and four granted bail.
Most of the offences, he said, were for participating in activities which made physical distancing difficult (184), failing to wear face masks (130) and travelling across districts or states without permission (64).
Meanwhile, a total of 5,234 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on 21,557 supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories, banks, government offices, as well as land, water and air transport terminals.
The authorities also detained 55 undocumented migrants yesterday as part of the ongoing Op Benteng campaign.
They also confiscated seven vehicles and three boats.
Ismail said 119,156 people, who arrived through KLIA, were screened for Covid-19 from July 24 to Feb 9 and were placed under quarantine.
A total of 526 tested positive and were sent to hospital for treatment, while 112,429 have been allowed to return home. A total of 6,201 people are undergoing mandatory quarantine.
