
For religious ceremonies at temples, he said only five temple committee members would be allowed to attend.
“We encourage those celebrating to carry out any worship at their own homes,” he said during a press conference today.
Ismail said that those praying at home will also not be allowed visitors and all prayers must be limited to those within the same household.
He added that all CNY festival and cultural events such as lion dance and Chinese opera, among others will not be allowed as well.
Further, inter-district or interstate travel to visit family members and friends is not allowed except for those in Sarawak as there are certain areas of the state that are not under the movement control order (MCO).
“However, for Sarawak, we leave it to the state government to decide because there are certain parts of the state that are under the conditional MCO,” he added.
