
Ahmad, who is also Barisan Nasional secretary-general, said this will also depend on the Covid-19 situation in the country, adding that the party’s Supreme Council will decide on this.
“If the MCO and emergency are still here, then we will hold the AGM virtually.
“Umno will continue to march forward no matter how big the challenge,” he said in a Twitter post today.
The party’s annual assembly is slated to decide on its relationship with PPBM, after the rift between the two parties widened with most of Umno’s 191 party divisions calling for it to stop its cooperation with PPBM.
A decision at the AGM to withdraw support for PPBM is expected to lead to the collapse of the PN government.
Kelantan Umno chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, who is MP for Machang, as well as Padang Rengas MP and former minister Nazri Aziz have already withdrawn their support for the government.
