RANAU:
The Ranau police have become community heroes after they set up a tent atop a 100m high hill in Kampung Paus here to help students take part in the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) sessions.

District police chief Sammy Newton said the lack of good internet connection in the village had made it difficult for more than 30 students to follow their PdPR sessions.

“The tent, which was set up on Friday, has tables and chairs donated by Ranau police personnel. We also donated face masks, sanitisers and food baskets to the students,” he told Bernama.

Sammy said police would also carry out patrols in the area to ensure the safety of students participating in the home-based learning.

Meanwhile, Sabah Education Department director Mistirine Radin praised the efforts of the police in facilitating the PdPR process.
