Nilai district police chief Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said they were close contacts of a detainee who tested positive for the virus after he was sent there from Sungai Udang Prison in Melaka.
“They will be transferred by the health ministry to the Sungai Buloh Prison Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre in Selangor under police guard,” he said in a statement today.
Fazley said 31 policemen at the Nilai district police headquarters, who were also identified as close contacts of the detainees, had been screened and were under self-quarantine.
He said the building had been sanitised.
