IKEA Cheras says it will continue to act on the advice of the authorities.
PETALING JAYA:
Several security guards at IKEA’s Cheras outlet have tested positive for Covid-19, following a scheduled routine test.

In a Facebook post, the management said those found positive last worked on Jan 23. All other security guards were undergoing self-quarantine until further notice from the authorities.

Co-workers who were in close contact with the positive cases have been instructed to quarantine at home and were undergoing swab tests.

The management also said the outlet will be closed today for sanitisation and contact tracing efforts, and that it would continue to act on the advice of the authorities.

“We have and will continue to carry out all necessary safety measures, including replacement of service partners’ workers, contact tracing, swab tests, quarantine for all close contacts, and sanitisation,” it said.

IKEA’s Damansara outlet had previously closed on Jan 2, following the detection of several Covid-19 cases involving employees and service partners.

The same outlet also closed for a day in November after one of its part-time workers was suspected to be Covid-19 positive.
