PETALING JAYA:
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is reportedly planning to gradually bring back international flights to the UK, Australia and New Zealand this year, according to a Australian report.

The travel and lifestyle website Travel Executive reported that flights to New Zealand could resume by late March, with flights increasing steadily through the year, while flights to London could be increased to one a day, instead of once a week.

“With just two return flights a week to Australia at present, that’s set to climb to 39 weekly return flights serving Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth by late December.

“Schedules are always subject to change and may be impacted if travel and movement restrictions in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom remain in force,” it added.

These are the routes and flight frequencies planned by MAS for 2021 according to the report:

  • Sydney-KL: Two return flights a week from April, 13 per week by December.
  • Melbourne-KL: Two return flights a week from March, double flights daily by December.
  • Adelaide-KL: Four return flights a week from Oct 31, five per week by December.
  • Perth-KL: Two return flights a week in June, five per week by December.
  • Brisbane-KL: Not expected to return in 2021.
  • Auckland-KL: Two return flights a week in late March, once daily by late December.
  • KL-London: Two return flights a week by February, daily from July.
