The three locations are the Jelebu prison and staff quarters in Negeri Sembilan, the Johor Bahru Correctional Centre and staff quarters, and the Arena Segitiga Hall at Kota Tinggi.

The EMCO affecting the three areas was scheduled to end on Jan 10, but has now been extended until Jan 24.

Ismail said police arrested 372 people yesterday over movement control order-related offences where all were issued compound fines.

Among the offences were participating in activities at entertainment centres (105), flouting physical distancing rules (76), failure to wear face masks (93), failure to provide materials for contact tracing or registration (95) and others (3).

A total of 2,686 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories, banks, among other places.

Ismail also said police arrested 26 illegal immigrants and seized nine vehicles under Op Benteng. Enforcement teams also set up 113 roadblocks for monitoring yesterday.

He added that 101,158 people had arrived through KLIA between July 24 and Jan 8 from various countries.

A total of 540 people were sent to hospital for treatment, 92,446 were allowed to return home and 8,172 people are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine.
