PETALING JAYA: A man who attempted to commit suicide today by jumping from the balcony of his apartment unit in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur was talked down from the ledge by emergency services personnel.
A call about the incident was made to the Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 at 12pm.
In a statement, senior assistant fire superintendent Letchumann Mariappen said when they arrived at the scene they found the 26-year-old on his balcony.
By 1.30pm, the man was successfully persuaded against jumping off the balcony with some help from the High Rise Rescue Team.
The man is now under police custody pending further action.
