PETALING JAYA:
The Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS) said operations at the Rantau Panjang water treatment plant has been suspended this evening after Air Selangor reported another incident of solvent-like odour pollution.

In a statement on their Facebook page, they said the reading at the water treatment plant showed one TON (threshold odour number) as of this evening. The water treatment plant was then shut down at 7.10pm.

“LUAS, Air Selangor and relevant parties are currently investigating the matter and taking immediate mitigation measures. Further developments will be announced from time to time.”

The Rantau Panjang water treatment plant was one of four treatment plants forced to suspend its operations on Nov 10 after odour pollution was detected in Sungai Selangor.
