Royal Selangor Golf Club confirms fifth Covid-19 infection

Previously, three members and one staff member had tested positive for the virus.

RSGC is one of three golf clubs in the Klang Valley affected by Covid-19 cases.
PETALING JAYA:
Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) has confirmed that a fifth positive case of Covid-19 has been detected among its members.

In a statement, the club said the individual had played golf on Oct 25 before joining a gathering at the men’s bar. It said the member tested positive on Oct 31.

This comes after RSGC announced yesterday that one of its changing room staff members had tested positive for the virus.

The club advised members who used the men’s changing room facilities between Oct 20 and 27 to get tested.

The club also said it will remain closed until further notice.

Three Klang Valley golf clubs have now been affected by the third wave of infections. The other two are TPC Kuala Lumpur and Tropicana Golf and Country Resort.

Tropicana Golf and Country Resort recorded a cluster of patients among its workers, and an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) was placed on the workers’ dormitories.
