The case involves property developer Teen Boon Lye, who was previously charged with bribing a Malaysian official to secure the sale of a building called Dudley House in Melbourne, Australia.
Teen was charged on July 9, five years after it was revealed that the price of the property had been inflated by A$4.75 million to provide kickbacks to a group of Malaysian officials.
In a statement, Lim cited remarks made in 2017 by then regional development minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who said an MACC probe was “almost completed”.
He asked the government to provide more information on the findings of the investigation.
Then MACC deputy chief commissioner Azam Baki (now chief commissioner) said at the time that 24 witnesses had been questioned in relation to the case.
Lim said if the MACC had information regarding those involved, then action should have been taken against them.
“If not, why hasn’t the MACC sought information from the Australian Federal Police?
“Malaysians expect the MACC to break its silence regarding its probe into the Mara corruption scandal,” he said.
