SEREMBAN:
The Coroner’s Court here was told today that eight fingerprints were lifted by the Photo and Fingerprint Unit of the Nilai district police headquarters (IPD) from the side of a window on the lower floor of the villa occupied by Nora Anne Quoirin the night she went missing.

Wan Rukman Wan Hassan, 55, who is now the strategic planning officer at the Bukit Aman CID, said for that, 20 fingerprint samples of family members of the Dusun Resort manager Haanim Ahmed Bamadhaj, employees and former resort workers, as well as family members of the French-Irish teenager, were taken for comparison.

Wan Rukman, who is the 11th witness in the inquest to determine the actual cause of the teenager’s death, said the samples of the fingerprints were sent to Bukit Aman for analysis and matching.

“The results found four of the eight fingerprints had inadequate features and could not be matched, while four were in suitable condition and one matched the mother of the missing person,” he said when testifying before the coroner Maimoonah Aid.

Wan Rukman, who was then with the Negeri Sembilan CID, said the results of the fingerprint analysis were conveyed to him two days after Nora Anne was reported missing from her accommodation at the villa at Sora House, The Dusun Resort, Pantai, here.

To a question from lawyer S Sakthyvel, representing Nora Anne’s family, on whether the teenager’s fingerprint was among the eight lifted, Wan Rukman said the sample from the missing person was inadequate.

He also said the fingerprint sample of the girl was later obtained with the assistance of the international police (Interpol).

To another question by Sakthyvel whether Nora Anne’s fingerprint sample was taken when her body was found on Aug 13, 2019, the witness said: “Some were taken for comparison but the fingerprints had shrivelled.”

During the proceedings, the court was also told that eight other fingerprints were found on the window frame on the upper floor of the villa, as well as a bloodstain in the bathroom of the villa.

Nora Anne, 15, went missing on Aug 4 last year, a day after she and her family arrived in Malaysia for a two-week holiday at a resort in Pantai here, 60km south of Kuala Lumpur

On Aug 13, 10 days after she went missing, her body was found near a creek in a ravine, 2.5km from the resort where she and her family stayed, following a massive search.
