She said there were plenty of completed People’s Housing Project or PPR units in Penang, such as Kampung Tok Suboh on the mainland.

Recently, Penang Housing Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo claimed that a ministerial reply showed Penang was excluded from the list of approved PPR projects by the federal government.
In an event at Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur today, Zuraida said Jagdeep should stop playing victim, as the government was fair and equal to all states, including those run by the opposition.
She said even when she was a minister in the former Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, she assisted states which were under then opposition control.
“Perhaps it is a common feeling (to feel left out) being from an opposition state. Jagdeep should understand that when I was PH minister, I served other states (in the opposition) as well,” he said.
Recently, Jagdeep said Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow had enquired with the housing and local government ministry on Aug 11 about the implementation of PPR projects across the country this year as well as its respective costs.
Jagdeep said that the ministry had stated that although no new PPR projects had been approved, 11 existing PPR projects had been implemented in Penang at a total estimated cost of RM890 million.
According to the letter, the list of PPR projects approved are located in Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Terengganu, Pahang, Kelantan and Sabah.
