KUALA LUMPUR:
Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been announced as the acting deputy inspector-general of police, replacing Mazlan Mansor who retires tomorrow after 41 years of service.

The ceremony for the handing over of duties was held at the Royal Malaysian Police College here this morning.

Mazlan had served as deputy IGP since May 2019.

Top cop Abdul Hamid Bador, in his farewell speech, thanked Mazlan for his years of service.

“There are not enough words for me to speak that can describe all of his contributions,” he said.

Mazlan is also expected to be offered a government position by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Let’s wait for the announcement by the prime minister,” Hamid said.

Acryl will take over as deputy inspector-general of police once he receives the approval of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
