Haniza, who is the Lembah Jaya assemblyman, said PKR was “hunting down” members aligned to former party deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“PKR has strayed from its struggles to uphold justice,” she told Bernama, adding that she had yet to receive an official dismissal letter from the party.
The PKR central leadership council at a meeting yesterday agreed with the recommendation of the party’s disciplinary board to sack Haniza and four other PKR leaders.
Haniza had her membership suspended on April 6 for holding a meeting with Azmin and former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamarudin at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur in February.
Also sacked were Permatang Pauh division deputy chief Dr Afif Bahardin, Sungai Acheh assemblyman Zulkifli Ibrahim, Sabah women’s wing chief Rahimah Majid and Penang women’s wing chief Nur Zarina Zakaria.
On her position as the chairman of the state Housing and Urban Living Committee, Haniza said her appointment would only end if she received a directive from Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
She said she would continue to serve her constituency as an independent.
Following her sacking, PKR is left with 17 seats in the Selangor state assembly from the 21 it won in the 14th general election.
This was after Azmin (Bukit Antarabangsa), Muhammad Hilman Idham (Gombak Setia) and Dr Daroyah Alwi (Sementa) resigned from the party earlier.
There are a total of 56 state seats, with the others held by DAP (16), Amanah (eight) Barisan Nasional (five), PPBM (five), PAS (one) and independants (four).
