
Speaking at a press conference here today, he said blood reserves were down by 33%.
“The National Blood Bank has requested for permission to operate and (for us to) allow people to donate,” he said.
He added that the public will be allowed to travel for this purpose from 10am to 10pm.
When asked about the confusion over the process of arrest for those caught breaching the MCO, he said statements would be taken from those detained, with the investigation paper sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers before the suspects are taken to court.
“The police do not decide if a person should be charged or not.”
On the spread of infection at wet markets, he said he had spoken to the health ministry and that they would discuss the next course of action with the police.
Malaysia has recorded 99 deaths and 5,820 cases of Covid-19 so far. Of these, 3,957 have recovered.
