Ex-Sarawak PKR chief eyes Parti Sarawak Bersatu

Baru Bian says the party's objectives resonate with his ‘ideals’ and that he wants to join a local-based party similar to Warisan in Sabah.

Baru Bian quit PKR in late February.
KUCHING:
Former Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian has given a strong indication that he may join Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), saying he found its constitution attractive.

“I am looking at a stand similar to that of Parti Warisan Sabah,” the Selangau MP said, adding that Warisan had managed to get Sabahans’ support in fighting for their state rights.

Baru said he found PSB’s constitution “attractive” after studying other Sarawak-based political parties.

“The objectives of PSB resonate with my ideals and I believe, with the ideals of most Sarawakians. Most importantly, the party promotes multi-racialism and unity,” the former works minister who quit PKR in late February said in a statement.

Baru left PKR at the peak of the country’s political crisis in February.

Yesterday, Stampin PKR secretary Desmond Kho who was aligned to Baru before the latter quit the party said Baru and his supporters might be joining PSB.
