UDA chairman tests positive for Covid-19

Sources say Hisham Hamdan was recently in contact with a former minister and deputy minister.

Sources in the know say UDA Holdings chairman Hisham Hamdan has tested positive for Covid-19.

One of them also told FMT Hisham had recently been in contact with a former minister and deputy minister.

FMT has contacted the health ministry for comment.

In a press statement, Khazanah Nasional which has a staff member on the UDA board said one of its employees had been diagnosed with Covid-19 and is being treated at a government hospital. However, the employee was not named.

“Khazanah is working closely with the health authorities and the management of our office premises in undertaking the necessary measures and precautions to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and those around them,” it said.

This includes identifying those who had come into close contact with the employee, it added.

Meanwhile, UDA Holdings confirmed that one of its board directors had tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, it said the individual is being treated, and that it is seeking to identify those who had come into close contact with him.

It also said no cases of Covid-19 had been reported at its subsidiary, AnCasa Hotel KL.
