
He further welcomed Umno to sue him over his allegations.
“I welcome the police report they made against me. I was informed that they would sue me and I welcome that as well.
“As I have mentioned, I based my statement on what the police briefed me,” he said during a press conference held after a luncheon talk at the Malaysia Future Leaders School (MFLS) programme here today.
Yesterday, Syed Saddiq, who is also the youth and sports minister, lodged a police report over the threat posed by about 200 individuals outside a restaurant in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
He had said he suspected the crowd was made up of Umno supporters.

Umno Youth also filed a police report against Syed Saddiq following his allegations that the group consisted of Umno supporters.
Umno Youth chief Aysraf Wajdi Dusuki said the wing would also file a suit against the minister if he fails to apologise.
Syed Saddiq further told reporters that he was satisfied with police investigations so far after three suspects were detained.
Syed Saddiq and a few others had to climb a fence behind the meeting place to escape the mob.
“The organiser and police (who were there) with me said if we were to confront them things could escalate and become worse, and obviously we did not want any confrontation as it could get physical,” Syed Saddiq said today.
“So we took a safe option, that is into the forest. Not just me, I think Melaka exco Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideedn and PPBM Johor chairman Mazlan Bujang did the same,” he said.
Johor police chief Mohd Kamarudin Md Din told Bernama that investigations were ongoing to determine if the suspects were related to any political parties.
“We are currently investigating their previous and current political backgrounds,” he said, adding that the public should always respect the law.
He hoped the police action would go to show that gangsterism is not accepted in Malaysian politics, adding that “it does not matter who the perpetrators are”.
