I too want update on Yusoff’s assault claims, says Farhash

The political secretary to Anwar Ibrahim again rejects allegations against him.

Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak insists that he did not assault Muhammed Yusoff Rawther.
PETALING JAYA:
Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has again rejected accusations that he attacked a former research assistant at the PKR leader’s private office last year, saying he also wanted justice to prevail.

“Yusoff is playing the victim and it’s totally not true. He is a liar,” Farhash told FMT, referring to Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, who lodged a police report against Farhash in May last year.

This comes after Yusoff said he feared interference by politically connected individuals could have scuttled the investigation.

Yusoff, who also filed a separate complaint against Anwar claiming the PKR chief had sexually assaulted him in 2018, questioned the delay and silence of the authorities including the Attorney-General’s Chambers on his police report against Farhash.

Yusoff in his police report in May last year said Farhash had assaulted him at a bungalow used by Anwar as his office, causing injuries to his shoulder.

A medical report from Pantai Hospital which he showed to FMT stated that he had injuries and a tear to his shoulder, which required a surgery that would cost RM40,000.

Farhash, who denied the incident had taken place, said he too wanted an update on the police probe.

“I have no updates on the case, I want justice to prevail,” he said, adding that he was eager to clear his name.

In September, Yusoff filed a civil suit against Farhash, seeking compensation for his injuries. Last week, Farhash filed a defamation suit against Yusoff.
