We’re not looking for cybertroopers, just social media writers, says DAP

In responding to former prime minister Najib Razak's claims, the DAP says, tongue in cheek, that the Pekan MP can apply.

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua says it is not true the party is hiring 100 cybertroopers.
KUALA LUMPUR:
DAP today admitted that it had advertised on JobStreet, but said the vacancies were for social media writers and not cybertroopers as alleged by former prime minister Najib Razak.

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua said it was not true that they wanted to hire 100 cybertroopers.

“We are only hiring between two and five people as social media writers and their salary will depend on their qualifications and experience,” he told a press conference.

DAP Socialist Youth national executive council member Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof, meanwhile, took a jibe at Najib, saying he could apply for the job if he wanted to.

“Najib lost his job as prime minister, he can apply, but what is certain is that the party will reject it,” he said.

Yesterday, Najib said he believed Pakatan Harapan was looking to recruit cybertroopers at RM5,000 a month following the ruling coalition’s defeat to Barisan Nasional in four by-elections.
