PETALING JAYA: There will be no disciplinary action against DAP’s Ronnie Liu over his criticism of Dr Mahathir Mohamad last month, the party’s Disciplinary Committee chief Chong Chieng Jen said.
“We have perused his explanation and the Disciplinary Committee has accepted his clarification,” Chong said in a statement.
“However, the DC advises all members in future to refrain from open criticism against our coalition partners and to resort to internal channel to resolve our differences.”
Liu, the Sungai Pelek assemblyman, had come under fire from PPBM leaders over comments accusing Mahathir of not being in line with Pakatan Harapan’s values.
He had also claimed that the prime minister was pushing for a dominant Malay-based party to control the coalition by accepting former Umno politicians into PPBM.
