KUALA LUMPUR:
The Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth wing will be going on a nationwide roadshow to engage the younger generation on problems facing the nation.

Umno Youth leader Asyraf Wajid Dusuki said this was necessary “in view of the high racial tension facing the country”.

He said youth leaders and representatives from Umno, MIC and MCA will be working together to hold programmes such as talks, discussions and townhall sessions in cities and villages to teach the youths about “real Malaysian values”.

“These will be unlike the ‘Malaysia Baru’ values promoted by the Pakatan Harapan government. These values have in the end proven to be false —promoting prejudice, scepticism and suspicion. They have led them to often accuse one other.”

He said the PH narrative had failed to paint a positive picture of the country.

MCA Youth is currently led by Nicole Wong Siaw Ting and MIC Youth by R Thinalan.

The Tanjung Piai by-election will be the first platform for the roadshow, Asyraf said after a meeting to discuss preparations.

He said the meeting had also discussed the high racial tension facing the country.

“We urge the PH government to stop coming out with statements that are racist in nature.”

He particularly pointed out  “propaganda” statements made by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department P Waytha Moorthy and Human Resources Minister M Kula Segaran.
