PETALING JAYA: A woman died after being crushed by a falling tree at Universiti Malaya’s (UM) main gate today.
In a statement released today, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call at 5.30pm today.
Operations commander Mohd Ramzan Muhammad said they found a woman crushed by a tree in front of UM’s main gate upon arrival
The woman was pronounced dead by paramedics from University of Malaya Medical Centre.
Police said the victim is a 41-year-old Indonesian and are looking for her relatives.
Three cars parked nearby were also damaged by the tree, which fell during rain.
