PAS losing support in Selangor, claims state govt think tank

Institut Darul Ehsan says there has been a 7% drop in support for PAS since the general election.

PAS support in Selangor is declining, says a think tank linked to the state government.
PETALING JAYA:
A Selangor government-linked think tank today claimed that support for PAS in the state has declined since the May 9 polls, citing the findings of its latest survey.

Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE) said support for the Islamist party dropped to 8% from 15% in May last year, based on a survey of 2,851 people in July.

But IDE said it does not mean more voters are backing Pakatan Harapan.

“They are observing the current developments before deciding who they will support,” it said.

IDE research manager Khairul Ariffin Mohd Munir said PAS would depend on its loyal members to retain support.

“But PAS supporters and those who voted for the party in May 9 have begun changing their views on the party.”
