SHAH ALAM:
Selangor PKR chief Amirudin Shari says he has yet to be called before the party’s disciplinary board, more than a week after the board said he would be summoned to explain his controversial statements against certain individuals.

“I have not received anything yet,” Amirudin, who is also the Selangor menteri besar, told reporters after the launch of the 10th University Scholars Leadership Symposium by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad here today.

When asked if he had received any calls from the disciplinary board, he said: “Praise God, no. So far, no letters or calls.”

On July 25, the board said it had instructed Amirudin and Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak to explain their comments, adding that it would send letters to them and several others advising them to watch their actions as party leaders.

Amirudin had come under scrutiny for his remarks in a speech made at a solat hajat event at his home while Farhash had accused PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali of “unnatural sex” in a speech at the Dang Wangi police station on July 23.

When asked to comment on a meeting at his official residence last night and what had transpired, Amirudin said he had been at home but had not participated in the full discussion. He added that he did not have the full details.

“It was a briefing by Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin on the national community policy involving state constituencies,” he said.

He added that there had been no discussions on the party or anyone’s position in it.

“I was there briefly but went out as I had other affairs to attend to,” he said.
