
They were greeted by some 50 people who had gathered outside the Dang Wangi police station here, carrying placards and chanting “Bebas Farhash” (Free Farhash).
Farhash, who is also the political secretary to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, was detained on July 14 alongside several others including Haziq, the man at the centre of the controversy.
Haziq shocked the nation last month when he uploaded a video confession to Facebook, claiming that he was one of two men filmed engaging in homosexual acts.
He named PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali as the other individual, a claim which the economic affairs minister has strongly denied.
