PETALING JAYA: Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak is expected to be released today, a week after being arrested over the gay sex videos implicating a federal minister.
“We are expecting his release after lunch today,” his lawyer Baldip Singh told FMT.
Farhash, who is also the political secretary to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, was detained on July 16 along with several others including Haziq Aziz, the individual at the centre of the controversial videos.
Haziq, the former Santubong PKR Youth chief, shocked the nation last month when he admitted that he was one of two men filmed engaging in homosexual acts.
He named Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali as the other individual, a claim which the PKR deputy president has strongly denied.
