The clinics will be in Nangka Kemalih, Long Napir, Sebuyau, Simpang Bukut, Lawas, Long Busang, Semop, Syungkor and Lubok Antu.

“Four health clinics have also been approved in Tabuan Jaya, Serian, Siburan and Daro,” he said, adding that the government would also be expanding the Bintulu and Miri hospitals.

Lee said construction of Sri Aman General Hospital and the Petra Jaya Hospital is currently ongoing.

“The total cost for these projects exceeds RM1.5 billion and is scheduled to be completed in three years’ time,” he said.

Lee said he would also look into improving healthcare services at the Long Lama satellite clinic.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau had urged the government to improve healthcare infrastructure and services, especially in rural areas.

Ngau said the Long Lama satellite clinic, which receives about 120 patients on average per day, had only one wheelchair provided from the health ministry. The staff quarters were also inadequate, he said.
