Kelantan police chief Hasanuddin Hassan said a police forensics team aided by 12 Orang Asli will enter the jungle for the recovery operation, codenamed “Operasi Batek”.
He said the bodies from the Orang Asli Batek tribe were expected to be brought out by this evening.
“If the weather is good, we will proceed, but if it rains heavily, then the operation will be postponed.
“The journey to where the four bodies are will take four or five hours. If we use a boat, it will take us two hours but it would be difficult if it rains,” he told reporters at the Kelantan police contingent headquarters here.
Hasanuddin said police will record statements from family members after all the bodies have been recovered.
He said some of the family members were likely to have migrated and some perhaps would have died during the migration and buried in the area.
He also said the “red zone” (restricted) status of Kampung Kuala Koh would remain until further notice.
