A son of Malay Mail associate editor Zainal Epi was found dead in a lake in Hyde Park in London yesterday.

Zainal, when contacted by Bernama today, confirmed that Muhammad Hafiz, 23, was the youngest of his three children.

The chemistry student at Imperial College London since 2015 was identified from the student card found on the body, he said.

He said the Malaysian High Commission in London conveyed the news to him early today.

Zainal said he does not have the detailed information about his son’s death except that the body was found in a lake.

He said he and some family members will leave for London tomorrow.

Hafiz will be buried in London, he said.

According to a dailymail.com.uk report on March 25, the body of a man was recovered from a lake in Hyde Park in what the police are describing as an unexplained death.
