Jakim director-general Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim said this following a claim that a piece of equipment could detect the pig DNA in food in 10 minutes.
Jakim said such a claim could cause confusion in society.
“Consumers should be careful and should not be confused by this equipment.
“This is because the confirmation of the contents of a product can only be made by a party with the authority and which is accredited by the Department of Standards Malaysia based on certain criteria,’’ he said.
