Mahathir to receive honorary doctorate from NUS

The prime minister will return to his alma mater for a visit as part of his official trip to Singapore.

SINGAPORE:
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws at his alma mater, the National University of Singapore, today.

At noon, he will also be accorded recognition as an honorary distinguished patron by the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations.

He is also scheduled to attend a private lunch hosted by emeritus senior minister Goh Chok Tong, which will conclude his first official visit to Singapore since becoming the seventh prime minister of Malaysia.

He will later join his Asean counterparts for the official opening ceremony of the 33rd Asean Summit.

Mahathir is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
