KOTA KINABALU:
Former chief minister Musa Aman is on medical leave of absence from the current state assembly sitting, Sabah speaker Syed Abbas Syed Ali said today.

Syed Abbas told the state assembly that the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman had applied for leave of absence from the current sitting to table the state budget for 2019.

“I have excused him from this sitting due to his health problems,” he added.

Musa, who took his oath of office on Sept 5, has been absent from all four sittings so far including today’s. He was a no-show at an emergency assembly on June 11, as well as a sitting on July 2 and another on Aug 13.

Last week, the High Court dismissed Musa’s lawsuit seeking to declare Warisan president Shafie Apdal’s appointment as chief minister unconstitutional.

Musa said then that he would instruct his lawyers to appeal the decision at the Court of Appeal.
